  • 1 pound uncooked shrimp (peeled, deveined, tails removed)
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cayenne
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (divided)
  • 2 bell peppers (1 green, 1 red de-stemmed, seeded, diced)
  • 1 medium yellow onion (diced (3/4 cup))
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons flat leaf parsley (chopped + more for serving)
  • 12 ounces bowtie pasta
  • 1/2 cup reserved pasta water

Instructions

  1. Cook the bowtie pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, salt, black pepper, oregano, and thyme in a small bowl. Set aside.
  3. Combine shrimp with olive oil and half the Cajun seasoning in a bowl until coated.
  4. Sauté the seasoned shrimp in butter until cooked through, then set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, sauté diced bell peppers and onions with the remaining butter and seasoning until softened. Add minced garlic and cook briefly.
  6. Pour in heavy cream and let simmer; return shrimp to skillet along with cooked pasta.
  7. Toss everything to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed for desired consistency.
