  • 2/3 cup unsalted butter (for frosting)
  • 34 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (for frosting)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (alcohol-free)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (for frosting)
  • 35 tablespoons eggnog (for frosting)
  • 12 tablespoons cornstarch (if needed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until fluffy.
  4. Mix in egg yolks, vanilla extract, and eggnog until combined.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture until just blended.
  6. Drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10 minutes or until edges are golden; centers should remain soft.
  8. Cool cookies on a wire rack before frosting.
  9. While cooling, make the frosting by mixing unsalted butter, powdered sugar, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and salt. Add eggnog gradually until desired consistency is reached.
