  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup semolina flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup honey, warmed
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer one sheet of phyllo in the dish, brushing it generously with melted butter. Repeat with six more sheets.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together semolina flour, eggs, sugar, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
  4. Pour the semolina mixture over the phyllo layers and top with the remaining sheet of phyllo, brushing each layer with butter.
  5. Lightly score the top layer and bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before drizzling with warmed honey and sprinkling toasted sesame seeds on top.
