Ingredients

Scale
  • 250g softened butter
  • 275g granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 335g all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 180ml milk
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • Pink food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 160°C (320°F). Prepare a 9-inch round cake pan by greasing it and lining the bottom with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing gently.
  4. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients and milk into the batter; mix until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter into three bowls: one plain, one with pink food coloring, and one with cocoa powder.
  6. Spoon dollops of each colored batter into the prepared pan alternately and swirl gently with a knife for a marbled effect.
  7. Bake for about 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow cooling before frosting.
